The Elizabethtown Thrift store is an ecumenical effort between the Elizabethtown United Church of Christ, 1st Congregational Church of Lewis, The Church of the Good Shepard and St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church in Elizabethtown that was started in the fall on 2008.
Summer hours are Saturday 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 PM and Thursday 11:00 a.m.- 7:00 pm, Tuesday 11:00-5:00 pm.
Winter hours are Saturday 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 PM and Thursday 11:00 a.m.- 7:00 pm, Tuesday 11:00-5:00 pm.
It is currently on the second floor of The Deers Head Inn Restaurant in Elizabethown.
The thrift store has a wide variety of items including housewares, pet supplies,hardware, puzzles, greeting cards, clothing, jewlery, tools, music, movies, toys, books, etc.
Items to donate to the the thrift store can be dropped off at the U.C.C. (stone church) Parish hall on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 10:00 am - Noon.
Our many supporters in the community generously donate the goods that we sell. If you are interested in donating items, please remember that we operate with a small volunteer staff so we can only accept quality items. household itmes should be clean and in good condition.
Items we do not accept:
- ripped or stained clothing
- computers and printers
- encyclopedias or textbooks
- gas powered items
- used gas cans, propane tanks
- auto parts
- plants or animals
- used socks or underwear
- or anything that is cumbersome to carry up to the thrift store.
- We do have a bulletin board with information for larger items that people can sell for the thrift store.
